“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” from Psalm 133:1 truly reflects what we saw at QB Awaken Conference 2026. Across the week, there was a powerful sense of unity as we gathered to encounter God in worship, teaching, and community. His presence drew us together, strengthened our faith, and reminded us of our shared mission.
We are grateful to our guest speakers, volunteers, and staff who served so faithfully, and to Riverlife Baptist Church for their hospitality. It was especially inspiring to witness the passion and commitment of the next generation, carrying a vision to see our nation moved for Christ.
During Business Day, we had the privilege of honouring several outstanding leaders. Rev. Graham and Andrea Sercombe were inducted into the Queensland Baptist Hall of Faith, celebrating 40 years of faithful service to Jesus. Pastor Hoa Trinh was presented with the Jack Sweetman Leadership Award, recognising her decades of faithful leadership at Vietnamese Grace Church, which she founded 40 years ago in 1986. We also honoured Emil Rahimov for his 22 years of dedicated service at QB. In addition, Business Day saw Ps Pierre Joubert and Dr Nick Kikuchi welcomed as new members of the board.
We left conference encouraged, united, and expectant for all that God will continue to do.
Here is an interview with one of the guest speakers, Michael Hands the Lead Minister at Newlife Gold Coast.
