Home / TRAINERS for MVT’s CALD ministry class

Malyon Vocational Training (MVT) is seeking interest from potential teachers/trainers for the Diploma of Christian Ministry & Theology (Ethnic stream). MVT is the vocational training arm of QB.

This 3 year, part-time training program is offered to pastors and leaders in culturally and linguistically diverse churches (CALD) who do not have English as their first language. English is used for instruction.

Currently, we have 70 students with 20 first languages and 6 teachers. We are aiming for 20 teachers by 2030 to meet anticipated student growth.

The Diploma is offered face-to-face every second Saturday during school terms from 9am-3pm. We currently meet in the Logan area.

The potential trainers we are looking for:

  • love to share their faith in Jesus Christ and experiences in church leadership
  • love to teach adults from diverse language and cultural backgrounds
  • can focus on whole-person development and on the practical skills used in churches
  • have or are prepared to gain the necessary VET qualification for teaching adult learners
  • have current experience leading within Baptist churches
  • have qualifications in at least some of the following areas: Bible and theology, church ministry and leadership

MVT will provide the training and support needed to become outstanding teachers.

This is a partially remunerated position.

More information about this training stream can be found in the linked Learners Handbook and interested people should contact course coordinator: Rev Greg Peckman, greg.peckman@malyon.edu.au  or  0432 320 546
