As part of the QB Vision 33 Initiative, we are beginning the development and implementation of a new information management system. This modern database will significantly improve how we manage, care for and use the information entrusted to us by our member churches and pastors, while streamlining our administrative processes across QB.
This investment will modernise the way we work, enabling faster and more consistent service and response times, strengthening support for churches and pastors and providing our QB team and Board with accurate information to inform quality decision-making. It will also provide a strong foundation for other Vision 33 initiatives that rely on high-quality, well-managed data.
A key part of this project involves transitioning data from our current legacy system and redesigning pastoral registration processes to better serve churches and pastors in the future. To ensure this work is completed thoroughly and effectively, key staff will be dedicated full-time to the project during a focused implementation period.
As a result, Pastoral Services functions will be temporarily paused from July through to September 2026.
During this period:
- No new pastoral registration or ordination processes will be started.
- Applicants in the middle of current accreditation processes can continue to work on their application, but there will be limited ability of this team to process application documents and respond to questions. Registration documents received between July and September will be securely held and processed once services resume in September.
- Pastoral re-registration processed due for 1 Sept 2026 will be delayed till October/November – (impacting approx. 45 pastors).
- We will not be available to assist with pastoral reviews during this period.
- No Marriage Celebrant Training will be conducted or New Celebrant applications processed.
- Support of Pastoral Search Teams will be limited during this period.
- Other needs and queries will be triaged as they come in.
Normal processing will recommence from September onwards.
We recognise that this is a significant short-term adjustment and we do not take this decision lightly. However, we are confident this work will deliver long-term, meaningful benefits across our network.
We are grateful for your understanding and partnership as we take this important step forward together. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Pastoral Services team.
