Queensland Baptists is delighted to announce that Sue McQuay has been appointed as the QB Archivist, at the QB Board meeting on 27 August 2026.
The appointment comes as Rev Dr David Parker steps back from his long-standing work with the QB Archives. David has faithfully cared for the Archives in recent years and, as part of the succession process, has been working with Sue and Ian McQuay to pass on his knowledge and experience.
Sue brings a wealth of relevant experience to the role. Her background includes library science, publishing and digital archives, as well as many years with Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia and SIL Global. She has also served as a curator of SIL Global’s Language and Culture Archive, giving her valuable experience in preserving historical records and managing archival material.
Sue is already well connected with Queensland Baptist history through her membership of Baptist Heritage Queensland and her work as editor of The Queensland Baptist Forum, which makes regular use of the QB Archives.
We warmly welcome Sue to this important voluntary role and give thanks for her willingness to help preserve and make accessible the story and heritage of Queensland Baptists for years to come.
