Home / A Carinity Chaplain Awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia

Congratulations to one of Carinity’s wonderful volunteer chaplains, Lyn, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the King’s Birthday Honours!

Lyn was recognised for her service to the community as a volunteer with Inside Out Prison Chaplaincy for ten years, and through her disaster relief roles.

This has included volunteering for flood, disaster and cyclone relief efforts across Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales and Vanuatu with Samaritan’s Purse.

Lyn has also volunteered at Yazidi refugee camps in northern Iraq and, with Symbiosis International, helped to transform the lives of Bangladesh’s poorest people.
