In 1927, a small group of Queensland Baptist women gathered for a craft retreat. Not long after, a steamboat set out on Moreton Bay, carrying with it the earliest seeds of a camping ministry that would grow into what we now know as QCCC – Queensland Conference and Camping Centres.
A century on, that same spirit of gathering, growing and going deeper with God continues across QCCC’s sites at Mapleton, Tamborine, Brisbane (Brookfield), Cobb and Co Nine Mile, and through the Expeditions program – places that have shaped the faith of hundreds of thousands of Queenslanders across generations.
In 2027, we’re marking this remarkable milestone, and we want churches across the Queensland Baptist movement to be part of it.
Save the date: Saturday 10 April 2027, at QCCC Mapleton – immediately following QB’s Conference and Assembly on the Sunshine Coast, making it easy to stay on for this significant moment in our shared story.
This centenary isn’t just a celebration of buildings and bookings. It’s a chance to give thanks for a century of lives changed, faith deepened, and young people and families encountering Jesus in the outdoors – and to look ahead, with hope, to what the next hundred years might hold.
More details – including how churches and individuals can be part of the day – will follow in the coming months. For now, we simply want to invite you to pencil this one into your church calendar.
Happy 100th birthday, QCCC. Here’s to the next century of ministry.
