Throughout October, our QB ministry team and leaders travelled across the state, bringing pastors and local church leaders together for 12 Regional Gatherings. Across every region, we heard inspiring stories of God’s incredible work unfolding throughout our state. Each testimony filled us with gratitude and wonder as we joined together to thank the Lord and to pray for a fresh, powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit over Queensland. In our time together we also focused on prayer, encouragement, key updates, and a shared vision for transforming Queensland communities together. From Cairns to Mudgeeraba, Toowoomba to Hervey Bay and many places in between, these gatherings became vital touchpoints for strengthening unity across our movement, as we connected with more than 350 pastors and church leaders.
A key highlight was the unveiling of Vision 33, a compelling eight-year roadmap leading up to the year 2033 – marking 2000 years since the resurrection of Jesus and the birth of the Church. Vision 33 is more than a plan; it’s an invitation for every church, leader, and ministry to participate in transforming Queensland communities by serving Jesus together.
The gatherings celebrated the recent milestone of reaching over 1,000 baptisms in the past year – a historic first for Queensland Baptists. Key Leaders also shared about upcoming resources to assist churches in their compliance with Safe Spaces legislation as well as the rollout of new resources to support churches in areas such as Recognised Ministry workers, leadership development, and financial stewardship.
The four strategic pillars of Vision 33—Thriving Churches, Tomorrow’s Leaders, Faithful Stewardship, and Together in Mission were unpacked with clarity and enthusiasm. Each pillar reflects a deep commitment to seeing churches grow in health, leaders equipped for the future, resources stewarded wisely, and communities reached with the gospel.
The Regional Gatherings have highlighted that God is at work in our Movement. Together, we are diverse, united, and ready for God to continue to work through us. As we look toward 2033, we move forward with a growing sense of hope, prayerful reliance, and faith-filled purpose as we seek to transform our communities by serving Jesus together.
