Greetings QB Family

On Monday evening members and delegates of the QB Assembly gathered to consider the appointment of Peter Francis as Malyon Theological College Principal until the end of 2024. The ballot reflected a unanimous affirmation for Peter’s appointment. Congratulations Peter!

It was acknowledged that Peter’s role as Malyon Principal will be vital in providing transitional leadership and continuity as the proposed merger between Malyon and our New South Wales based sister college, Morling, is being developed and if approved, implemented over the coming year.

There will be a special Pastors forum held at 10am on Wednesday the 22nd of November to provide the opportunity for interaction on the merger proposal. Representatives from both Malyon and Morling will be available to answer questions during this forum.

Topic: Special Pastor’s Forum – Malyon / Morling Merger

Please continue to pray for Peter, the MaTTS Director, Andrew McCafferty, and the MaTTs council chaired by Jo Leutton, as they continue to serve our movement and progress plans for the ongoing provision of excellent theological and ministry training for the QB movement.

Carinity CEO Update

The special assembly also received an update on the Carinity CEO role as the candidate nominated for consideration for the role, Lincoln Hopper, gave notice of his withdrawal for personal reasons from the CEO appointment process.

We are disappointed by this unforeseen development but the QB Board in conjunction with the Carinity Council, have taken steps to recommence the search process for a new Carinity CEO. We are faith filled that as we commence the recruitment process, the Lord God has the right person prepared for us.

In the meantime, David Angell will continue as the interim CEO. David is doing an amazing job and has graciously agreed to continue as interim CEO until February 2024.

Planning for a proposal for the incorporation of Carinity is continuing with legal advice received from King’s Council providing guidance for a way forward with the process. Mark Horsburgh is assisting a working group tasked with progressing this work. We anticipate bringing a proposal to the special assembly planned for Feb/March 2024.

Staff Movements

This week we farewell Chew-Sek Liaw who has concluded in her role in the QB Finance team. We appreciate Chew-Sek’s skill, expertise, and the excellent contribution she has made to QB and wish her well as she moves into a new season. Paula Tobin will be joining the Finance Team on a part time basis to provide assistance in the short term. Welcome Paula!

Blessings,
