Greetings QB Family,
Last Thursday evening the QB Board met in person for their monthly meeting. Here are some of the highlights from this meeting and the previous month’s meeting for your information:
- The Board endorsed the QBSG Draft Budget which will be considered at the Annual Assembly.
- Nominations for the QB Board, proposed by the Board Nominating Committee to be considered at the Annual Assembly, were tabled. The Board noted that there are two new nominations: Dr Nick Kikuchi (Japanese Congregation @ Riverlife) and Ps Pierre Joubert (Northreach).
- The Board noted participation in submissions though ABM in relation to a review of the operation of the National Redress Scheme and another though the QLD Heads of Churches and Freedom for Faith raising concerns in relation to aspects of the QLD Government’s Anti Semitism Bill.
- On the recommendation of the Hillcrest Christian College Board, it was resolved to reappoint James Lewis, Aaron Hook, Judith Mendes, and Tony Woods as directors of Hillcrest Christian College.
- CEO of Carinity, Kevin Griffiths and inhouse Legal Counsel, Charles Ware joined the Board to present reports and highlight key compliance aspects of Carinity’s highly regulated Age Care and Schooling operations.
- Past Chair, Stephen Hendrick, joined the meeting to present for tabling a report from the QB Governance Review Working Group.
