We had the most incredible time at our Project 11 Summit November 14-16! We had 80 emerging leaders, their mentors and our QB support crew together at QCCC Mapleton to celebrate the journey of leadership development they’ve all been on this year. Over the weekend our theme was ‘Following the Leader: Lead Like Jesus’. Together we set our eyes on our saviour, who is the perfect example of leadership for us. The emerging leaders were inspired afresh by Jesus’ life and leadership, and challenged to reflect his character in their own leadership through our main sessions and some incredible electives. There’s an ancient Jewish blessing that says, ‘may you be covered in the dust of your rabbi’, suggesting that as one follows so closely behind their leader they would pick up the dust from their feet. This blessing implies that lives would be changed from the inside out – this was the blessing we sent out 2025 cohort of Project 11 emerging leaders away with.
This generation is on fire for Jesus – it is truly incredible to be apart of! They spent the whole weekend leaning into what God was saying to them, praying for each other and surrendering their lives to the Lord. On the Saturday night we actually lost power just as our main session began due to the storms, but they didn’t even miss a beat! They continued to sing, clap, dance and praise, leading to a beautiful night of intimate acoustic worship of our saviour! I continue to be assured that the future of God’s church is in the most incredible hands – this generation is deeply humble and authentic and hungers to see the lost come to know Christ.
