I want to thank the QB Assembly for your affirmation for me to continue as the Director of the Queensland Baptist Movement on Monday night for another 3 years. It has been a great joy to serve our Movement over the last 5 years. I can honestly say that I love our QB family even more now, than I did 5 years ago. I have witnessed many people in many places serving Jesus faithfully, loving people with grace and compassion and sharing the Good News of the Kingdom with conviction and passion. It has been a poignant reminder to me of the beauty and the potential of the body of Christ when we serve together and celebrate our diversity.
My heart is full of faith and expectation as we set our sights to all that the Lord has for our future. We have spent considerable time in prayer and planning this year to develop Vision 33 – a picture of what we believe God can do as we serve Him together for the next 8 years. I greatly appreciate all the input and encouragement from our churches and charter groups to discern together what God has for our future. Please keep praying and asking God how you might contribute to seeing Gods purposes for our QB Movement come to pass.
God is moving mightily in our Movement and across our nation. In the last 12 months we have baptised over 1000 new believers for the first time in 170 years of QB history. 1133 people publicly declared their faith in Christ in one of our churches and all of heaven celebrated every single one. Praise God!!
In John 4, Jesus met a woman at well who was hurting, yet spiritually thirsty and He gave her so much hope that she told everyone she met about the man who knew everything about her. Because of her simple testimony, many people in that community became believers and Jesus said to His followers, “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. (John 4:35)
I believe Jesus might say the same to us today. Open your eyes to see the hurting and spiritually thirsty in your community and simply share your story about the hope you have found in Jesus. The fields are ripe for harvest!
Thank you again for the affirmation to continue to serve as the Director of the Queensland Baptist Movement for another 3 years. I am praying for you all as you prepare for the Christmas season, that you might see a mighty harvest for the Kingdom.
