Around the Movement

If you stood at QCCC Mapleton this January, you would have felt it—500 young voices in worship, laughter across the grounds, and a sense that something significant was unfolding.

In this episode of Around the Movement, Ben QB’s Youth and Young Adults Team Leader and Mel, QB’s Kid’s and Families Team Leader share what’s happening in the NextGen space.
For Ben, this year’s State Youth Camp at QCCC Mapleton, marked a milestone: the biggest one QB has ever seen.

With more than 500 young people and leaders from 19 churches registering—more than the venue could hold—QB responded creatively by running two back-to-back camps. The result was more than a solution; it was a powerful picture of unity, energy, and belonging. The momentum is already building toward State Youth Camp 2027.

In March, that energy shifted into a quieter but equally meaningful space. Around 40 Next Gen leaders gathered on the Sunshine Coast for QB’s first-ever Leaders Retreat—a time to connect, share openly, and be reminded they’re not alone in the challenges of ministry. Through honest conversations, worship, and encouragement, relationships deepened and burdens were lightened.

Now, attention turns to April and the QB Conference. A free Worship Night at Riverlife Baptist Church will bring young adults together again for food, music, and a message from Dave Shepherd—an open invitation to gather, worship, and seek God as one.

From record-breaking camps to renewed leaders, 2026 is already carrying a sense of God at work among the next generation—and the year is only just beginning.
